“When you are a tween, you do not like adults telling you how you feel, how you should feel, or what you should do, even. [Tweens] like to be treated like the expert in their own life.”

I have often wondered why these choices were made as I drive my own children to school. I thought it was defiance, perhaps neglect in checking the weather - it has always puzzled me. I love the notion that this is how they choose to assert their independence.
